VIDEO: Raffaela Fronc Elected to District 13 BOE

Durham resident says she plans to make 'decisions that are educationally sound and cost effective.'

Durham resident Raffaela Fronc was elected Monday night to serve on the Regional School District 13 Board of Education.

Fronc, who currently serves as Science Coordinator and Bilingual Director for the West Haven School system, replaces Elizabeth "Betsy" Gara, who resigned last month after being named Executive Director of the Connecticut Council of Small Towns (COST).

Fronc, a Republican, did not face an opponent and was chosen unanimously by a crowd of about 50 residents who showed up to Monday night's town meeting at Coginchaug High School.

Fronc will serve the remainder of Gara's term, which is set to expire in June.
