Durham Defenders Finish Another Remarkable Season

The team of local sixth graders finished the year with a 26-5 record and two tournament wins.

 

The Durham Basketball Association's 6th grade girls team, the Durham Defenders, concluded their second travel season as two-time champions of Branford's Joan Bradley Tournament and Wallingford's Ulbrich Christmas Tournament!

The team won both tournaments, with an undefeated record, for a second year in a row. The Durham Defenders finished their 2012-2013 season with an overall record of 26-5, including all league, non-league and tournament games.

The players, Jenna Berens, Alison Durand, Hayley Esparo, Alessandra Fronc, Sarah Gavin, Alexandria Grenier, Michaela Grenier, Gabriele Kozik, Raina Kurek, Kailey Lipka, Lindsay Lipka, Sarah Smith and Bailey Zettergren, along with their coaches Stacy Troiano and Michael Grenier, are a very dedicated and team-oriented group, full of enthusiasm and sportsmanship, and are amazingly fun to watch.
