Coginchaugh High School Earns Re-Accreditation

The New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. has continued to accredit Coginchaug High School.

NEASC issued a report that offered praises and critiques for the Durham and Middlefield school.

Principal Donald W. Gates discussed the accreditation with the Board of Education on Wednesday. Gates said he has been part of about 20 NEASC committees charged with issuing accredidation renewals in both Connecticut and Mass, and he praised the results for CRHS.

"I’ve written a lot of reports and we received a really good report," Gates said Wednesday. "I thought it was interesting that they’ve identified some focus areas that since the committee has been here the board is looking at. Identifying the declining enrollments and that kind of thing."

Gates also said NEASC was praising of the community as well.

A copy of the report can be reviewed at the Durham Town Hall and the Durham Public Library.
