Coginchaug Soccer Club Awards Scholarships

The Coginchaug Soccer Club (CSC) recently awarded $2,000 in scholarship funds to four students:

Sara Richardson, Mercy High School

  • 13 year Soccer player, 8 with the Coginchaug Soccer Club
  • 2 years at Strong Middle School
  • 4 years at Mercy (3 years Varsity)
  • Also played for Foundation, CFC, AFC and Oakwood
  • SCC Scholar Athlete - April 2012
  • Referee for Coginchaug SC 2008-Present

Lauren Trombetta, Coginchaug Regional High School

  • 13 year Soccer player, 13 with the Coginchaug Soccer Club
  • 2 years at Strong Middle School
  • 4 years at CRHS, (3 years Varsity)
  • Team Captain Senior Year
  • Shoreline Champion
  • Shoreline Tournament Sportsmanship award
  • Connecticut Scholar Athlete award 
  • CRHS Clubman of the year award

Alan Haberern, Coginchaug Regional High School

  • 13 year soccer player, 13 with the Coginchaug Soccer Club
  • Also played with South Central Premier, CT Olympic Development Team
  • 2 years at Strong Middle School
  • 4 years at CRHS, (4 years Varsity)
  • Team Captain Senior Year
  • Coaches Award Recipient
  • Referee 2009-Present 
Eligibility
  1. High School Seniors planning to attend a school of higher education.
  2. Must have had a C+ average (GPA 2.5) or better in High School (to be verified by the applicant’s school)
  3. Current or former member of the Coginchaug Soccer Club.
  4. The student must be or have been a member of the Club for at least two years and considered in good standing.
  5. Student may be or have been a player, referee or coach.
