Coginchaug Fall Sports Preview: Boys' Soccer

"I think we're going to surprise a lot of people but it's going to take a lot of hard work to get there," says Coach Chris Cap.

Last season: 3-11-2

Season Opener: Sept. 12 vs. Cromwell, at Coginchaug High School at 3:45 p.m.

Coach Cap's Season Outlook: Our number one goal is just to be better than we were the day before. If we continue to do that all season we'll have a great season. Your ultimate goal is to win states, but to reach that goal you have to have a winning record at the end of each week and that's what we're shooting for.

Our goal keeping is very strong. We lost Mark Kelly last year and Jeff Cummings is just as good. He's a very strong keeper so I'm very comfortable in my goal keeping. We have a lot of seniors, we have a lot of experience on the team, it's just going to be a matter of getting them to play as a unit and thinking as 11 players and not just one.

Seniors: Conner Bates, Kyle Dupre (C), Alan Haberern, Douglas Hanley, Bobby Jungles, Michael Lisitano, Matthew Schock, Christopher Sullivan, Benjamin Taber (C), David Trombetta, Dylan Slomkowski

Underclassmen to Watch: Jack Temple
