Blue Devils Run Over Bellhawks 35-6

Jack Granger scores 3 touchdowns as Coginchaug improves to 3-1.

 

Coginchaug gained 367 yards on the ground on Saturday on the way to beating East Hampton/Vinal Tech 35-6 in Durham.

The Blue Devils took a 28-0 lead into halftime and have now outscored opponents 122-13 this season while improving to 3-1.

Coginchaug running back Jack Granger carried the ball 15 times for 95 yards. He scored three touchdowns bringing his season total to 10 TDs.

Sophmore quarterback Jake Ober had 103 yards rushing on 12 carries and completed 5 of 9 passes for 36 yards. Sean Harper rushed for 100 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown.

The Bellhawks only score came in the third quarter when Zach Dombrowski returned an Ober INT for a 10-yard touchdown.

Christian Adams ran for 49 yards and caught three passes for 18 yards.

Before the game, Coginchaug honored Sergeant James Murphy as the team's Honorary Captain.

The Blue Devils travel to Old Saybrook/Westrbook on Oct. 20. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
