The public is invited to join the Regional School District 13 Board of Education and the Building Committee for an opening ceremony at the new Coginchaug Athletic Complex.
The ceremony will take place today at 2:30 p.m. A formal dedication ceremony is planned for the fall.
"We want everyone who has been a part of making this dream a reality to join us in a ceremonial first lap around the track and a sprint across the field," a message from the district reads.

Coginchaug is scheduled to host its first true home track meet in a decade on Tuesday.
