BOE Approves 3-Year Contract for Administrators

Principals, other administrators will receive five percent pay increase over term of contract.

The Board of Education approved a new three-year contract for administrators Wednesday night.

The contract (see PDF) calls for a five percent increase in salaries over three years, including a 2.5 percent increase effective July 1, 2012, and 1.25 percent increases in each of the following two years of the contract.

Administrators - which includes all of the district's principals, Special Education Coordinator, Director of Pupil Personnel Services and Director of Curriculum - will also receive yearly tax sheltered annuity payments ranging from $1,750 to $3,500, depending on years of experience.

The administrator's salaries based on the contract range from $104,007 to $135,192.

Board member Mary Jane Parsons said administrators' contributions to their health insurance will be increasing slightly.

"It was a very cordial negotiation process," she said.

Board member Nancy Boyle said the contract is in line with other districts in the state. "We're not high, we're not low," she said.

The board voted 6-1 in favor of the contract which runs from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2015.

Board member Jeremy Renninghoff voted against the contract, while members Merrill Adams and Kerrie Flanagan were absent from the meeting.

I would suggest to parents to donate a book to the classroom or school library in their child's nameRead More to celebrate the child's birthday, or other significant event, instead of sending in cupcakes or other sweets.
