The Coginchaug Regional High School football team held its first scrimmage of the 2011 season on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at the Blue Devils' new field.
The game showed how tough are boys are. Coginchaug, a S class team, played Hamden, a LL class team.
Defensively, we looked solid, led by Andrew Paxton, Tanner Pedersen, Luke Bogdanski and Nick Agramonte.

Offensively, we were effective running the ball and starting quarterback Tyler Doherty also made plays, with Tanner Pedersen and Zev Kartiganer getting some time at QB as well.
The Blue Devils scored a touchdown when Ethan Donecker caught a pass from Doherty.

Even some of our underclassmen got some playing time during the scrimmage on our brand new field. It was a hot day in the bleachers for the fans but overall the atmosphere on the new field kept fans and players excited for the upcoming season.
The Blue Devils next scrimmage will be on Friday, Sept. 9, when the team travels to Wallingford to take on Lyman Hall.
