For the past eight years, Middlefield and Rockfall voters have supported Jon Brayshaw as their First Selectman. In return, he's delivered.
- Secured grants totaling nearly $3 million for various projects, including Powder Ridge, bridge reconstruction and improvements at Peckham Park.
- Initiated a Tax Freeze for qualifying seniors
- Established the Energy Advisory Committee who initiated many energy improvements at a savings to taxpayers
- Participated in the Workforce Alliance, a summer employment program that has benefitted dozens of local teens
- Played active roll in the Durham-Middlefield Local Wellness Council (LWC), which tends to the needs of our youth
- Established Emergency Management protocol and Emergency Notification System to protect residents during natural disasters
- Supported the restoration of Powder Ridge Ski Area, helping to secure jobs and taxes while maintaining the "fabric" of Middlefiled.
- Expansion and improvements to Peckham Park
- Secured “Open Space” throughout Middlefield and Rockfall
- Launched town website
- Established the Lake Beseck Advisory Committee to deal with environmental issues at the lake
- Supported the town's first responders — police and firefighters, which included the purchase of a new fire truck, the first in decades.
- Led improvements at Town Hall and the Middlefield Community Center including painting, roofing and HVAC.
- Actively engaged with Regional School District 13, including in the areas of budget discussions as well support of school activities
- Assisted dozens of homeowners through the Housing Rehabilitation program
- Participate in the Middlesex County Revitalization Commission
On Tuesday, November 5, Middlefield and Rockfall voters will once again be faced with a decision — the right one is to re-elect Jon Brayshaw.
