A Vote for Experience and Accomplishment

For the past eight years, Middlefield and Rockfall voters have supported Jon Brayshaw as their First Selectman. In return, he's delivered.

  • Secured grants totaling nearly $3 million for various projects, including Powder Ridge, bridge reconstruction and improvements at Peckham Park.
  • Initiated a Tax Freeze for qualifying seniors
  • Established the Energy Advisory Committee who initiated many energy improvements at a savings to taxpayers
  • Participated in the Workforce Alliance, a summer employment program that has benefitted dozens of local teens
  • Played active roll in the Durham-Middlefield Local Wellness Council (LWC), which tends to the needs of our youth
  • Established Emergency Management protocol and Emergency Notification System to protect residents during natural disasters
  • Supported the restoration of Powder Ridge Ski Area, helping to secure jobs and taxes while maintaining the "fabric" of Middlefiled.
  • Expansion and improvements to Peckham Park
  • Secured “Open Space” throughout Middlefield and Rockfall
  • Launched town website
  • Established the Lake Beseck Advisory Committee to deal with environmental issues at the lake
  • Supported the town's first responders — police and firefighters, which included the purchase of a new fire truck, the first in decades.
  • Led improvements at Town Hall and the Middlefield Community Center including painting, roofing and HVAC.
  • Actively engaged with Regional School District 13, including in the areas of budget discussions as well support of school activities
  • Assisted dozens of homeowners through the Housing Rehabilitation program
  • Participate in the Middlesex County Revitalization Commission
Most importantly, Jon Brayshaw has maintained the character of the town and exercised kindness to all.

On Tuesday, November 5, Middlefield and Rockfall voters will once again be faced with a decision — the right one is to re-elect Jon Brayshaw.
