'Significant Progress' Made in Durham, More Work Ahead Monday

First Selectman Laura Francis provided the following storm response update Sunday evening.

We made significant progress today opening up the vast majority of roads. Some roads remain partially closed because of the amount of snow, difficult road features and blocked cars.

Fresh Public Works Crews and heavy equipment will be deployed early Monday morning focusing on opening up the remaining roads, catch basins and waterways to handle the anticipated rainfall.

We will continue to work on sight line clearing, road widening. This will take several days and we ask for your help. Please push the snow from your driveways to the side. DO NOT push your snow into the roadways.

The town hall will be opened for storm response only, with town hall staff assisting our response and recovery team.
You can call the town hall numbers and storm hotline for assistance.

All Regional School District #13 Schools, Durham Activity Center, Durham Public Library will be closed.

The Transfer Station will be closed and will reopen on Thursday.

I thank you for your cooperation and patience as we continue to recover from this historic weather event.
