Traffic Light Coming to Route 17 and Pickett Lane

The Dept. of Transportation is scheduled to install a signal at the intersection next spring.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation plans to install a traffic signal at the intersection of Route 17 (Main Street) and Pickett Lane in Durham in April 2013.

The DOT recommended the signal following a 2010 study. The design phase of the project is slated to begin in June is expected to cost about $100,000.

Pickett Lane is considered a school road, therefore District 13 is responsible for paying for 10 percent of the cost of the project, or about $10,000.

I would suggest to parents to donate a book to the classroom or school library in their child's nameRead More to celebrate the child's birthday, or other significant event, instead of sending in cupcakes or other sweets.
