Town Approves New Trucks, Generator Move

At a special town meeting Monday night Durham, voters ok'd a plan to spend $169,509 on a fleet of new vehicles for the Public Works Department.

 

On Monday night, Durham residents unanimously approved three projects that will require the town to spend a combined $190,444, including about $53,000 on a new dump truck for the .

The town will purchase the new truck under a lease-to-own agreement and buy three other vehicles to replace an aging town fleet.

Residents also approved to move the town's Emergency Operations Center from the Durham Fair Medical Building to Town Hall, which includes moving a generator from the current site to the new one.

A $1,200 request for exterior improvements at Deerfield Farm, which is leased by the town, was also approved.
