Third Grader Shakes President's Hand on Inauguration Weekend

Thomas Kannam attended Monday's Presidential Inauguration with his family and talked about his experience on John Lyman School's WJLS news broadcast.

Thomas Kannam of Durham, a third grader in Mrs. Betty Hadlock's class at John Lyman School, was an eyewitness to history along with his family.

The Kannam's were in attendance at the Presidential Inauguration in Washington, D.C. on Monday, January 21. The highlight of the day, according to Thomas, was shaking President Obama's hand at the Inaugural Prayer Service at St. John's Episcopal Church in the morning before the swearing in ceremony.
