Teresa Opalacz has been appointed to Durham's Board of Finance.
A Durham resident for 15 years, Opalacz holds a bachelor's degree in economics and accounting from Holy Cross and is currently a partner with Guilmartin, DiPiro & Sokolowski of Middletown.
"We're fortunate to have someone with her capability make herself available," said Martin French.
Opalacz will fill the position left vacant by the death of board member Laurie Stevens in April.
