Suzio Sworn Into Senate

Meriden businessman officially takes District 13 seat

Local businessman Len Suzio (R-Meriden) was sworn in to his new post as District 13 state senator at about 1 p.m. Monday – less than a week after his special election win over Democrat Thomas Bruenn last Tuesday netted him the spot. Suzio's victory in the monthlong race came as a surprise to many in the area, as the seat has not been filled by a Republican for 36 years. Suzio, 63, will represent Middlefield, Meriden and parts of Cheshire and Middletown, in a term that ends in 2013.
