Stay Cool During Extreme Heat in Durham, Killingworth

Cooling centers opened as temperatures near triple-digits Wednesday.

 

The towns of Durham and Killingworth have opened cooling centers as temperatures and the humidity rise.

In Durham, the third floor of and the will be open during regular business hours to provide relief to those without air-conditioning.

In Killingworth, residents can cool down at the until 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The library will be open as a cooling center from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Anyone who needs assistance in Killingworth coping with the heat can call the selectman's office at 860-663-1765.
