Public Hearing Monday on Congressional Redistricting

Special master to hear arguments in reapportionment plan.

 

Town officials on both sides of the political aisle have voiced serious concern and displeasure with the outcome of redistricting. 

As it stands, this fall up into four General Assembly districts, two each in the House and Senate.

This plan does not include the state's congressional boundaries, which already split the town in half and which, if left as is, could cause what some say amounts to voter disenfranchisement.

To that point, the special master appointed by the Connecticut Supreme Court will hold a public hearing on Monday, Jan. 9 at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.

The hearing begins at 12 p.m. in Room 2C. 

The parties and/or any interested member of the public may present argument to the special master during the hearing. The Supreme Court order directing the special master can be found here.
