Presidents' Day: What's Open and Closed on the Federal Holiday

Government offices, schools and some banks are closed for the Presidents' Day holiday.

 

Monday, Feb. 18, is Presidents' Day, a federal holiday first established in 1885 when it was called Washington's Birthday — in honor of America's first president, George Washington.

Here is what is open and closed in Durham-Middlefield:

  • Libraries
  • Post Office
  • Schools
  • Durham Activity Center
  • Middlefield Community Center

OPEN:

  • The Durham-Middlefield transfer station is OPEN today.
  • Restaurants
  • Grocery Stores
  • Some Banks
