Pent Road Repaving Work to Begin This Spring

On Monday night, Durham's Board of Selectmen agreed to move forward with the Pavement Preservation project by awarding the job to a Middlefield construction company.

Xenelis Construction Company of Middlefield has been chosen to repave Pent Road in Durham.

The project, which is expected to begin in the spring, will involve with a rubberized chip seal as well as upgrading seven drainage cross culverts.

Xenelis' bid of $213,853.50 was the low bid on the project, according to First Selectman Laura Francis.

80 percent of the cost of the project will be picked up by the federal government, while the town will be responsible for the remaining 20 percent.
