Nearby Greenway To Be Designated Friday

The Menunketesuck-Cockaponset Regional (MCR) Greenway will be officially designated as a Connecticut Greenway at a ceremony on Friday, June 1

 

A ceremony is set for Friday, June 1 in Watertown to officially designate five new Connecticut Greenways, one of which serves the Killingworth community, the CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection announced. 

The nearby Greenway that will be offically designated is The Menunketesuck - Cockaponset Regional (MCR) Greenway.

According to the DEEP news release, the MCR Greenway serves to "protect the private and working forest land, water quality and quantity, wildlife habitat, public recreation, and scenic resources that create the character and economic vitality of the lower Connecticut River and Coastal Region."
