Middlefield Passes Interlocal Agreement, Agrees to Join COG (Documents)

The new 20-year agreement was approved by Durham voters on Feb. 13.

 

More than a month after a new 20-year Interlocal Agreement, voters in Middlefield approved the agreement this week.

By an 11 to 2 vote on March 20, residents supported the new agreement which regulates the operation of the Transfer Station, which the two towns have shared for more than 40 years.

In a nearly identical vote, 12 to 1, residents approved a resolution to join the newly formed Connecticut River Valley Council of Governments, or COG.

The regional planning agency will combine both the Midstate Regional Planning Agency as well as the Estuary Planning Agency to form a singular, 17-town agency.
