Political Action Committee's chairman says candidates have also successfully petitioned to appear on the Nov. 8 general election ballot.

Gerald “Jerry” Lucas, general campaign chairman of the Better Choice 2011 Political Action Committee announced late Tuesday that he has been informed by the Democratic and Republican Registrars of Voters in Killingworth, that both the petition submitted by Steve Hollander, candidate for first selectman, and the petitions for the 10 Republicans who are challenging certain GOP endorsed positions, have successfully been completed and all 11 Better Choice 2011 candidates have qualified for the primary, to be held Tuesday, September 13.

Not only the primary ballot Lucas proudly proclaimed, this team will be on the ballot in November as we have exercised the rare provision of petitioning onto the general election ballot. Therefore, we get two bites of he apple, Lucas explained.

This is a serious challenge and we are all into this, he concluded.
