Democrats, Republicans in Killingworth Endorse Candidates for Fall Elections
First Selectman Catherine Iino will head the Democrats' slate and Republican William Romero will challenge her.
Democrat Catherine Iino will seek re-election this fall as Killingworth’s first selectman. Iino leads a slate of candidates that was endorsed by the Democratic Town Committee at its nominating caucus Tuesday night. Iino is seeking her second term as first selectman.
Killingworth Republicans also held their nominating caucus this week and endorsed William Romero to challenge Iino. Romero ran unsuccesfully for the regional school board in 2009. Joining him in a bid to serve on the board are Jeff Yazmer and incumbent Selectman Fred Dudek.

A third political party has also formed in Killingworth. The new group, called Better Choice 2011 and created by former Republican selectman Gerald "Jerry" Lucas, held a primary Tuesday night at Killingworth Elementary School and nominated several candidates to challenge the endorsed Republican and Democratic candidates.
