State Police Investigating Bank Robbery in Durham

Police say the TD Bank on Main Street was robbed at 6:45 p.m.

State Police are investigating a bank robbery at the TD Bank in Durham Friday evening, according to Sgt. Sal Calvo.

A suspect walked into the bank at 331 Main Street around 6:45 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash, he said.

The suspect did not show a weapon but left the bank with an unknown amount of cash. He fled on foot, Calvo said.

The suspect is described as being between 5'4" and 5'8" and about 180 pounds and was last seen wearing a khaki jacket, hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The suspect also wore black gloves and a ski mask during the robbery.

Calvo said the suspect was carrying a blue grocery style bag as well.

A State Police K-9 team was able to get a track on the suspect but the investigation continues. The bank remains closed as police interview witnesses and bank employees.

At least one nearby business was evacuated as a precaution.

Maybe it was a trooper who robbed the bank? No fatal accidents in the area lately to steal from them!

Sounds like the same guy (gal?) who hit TD in KW a couple of weeks ago.

While I understand that you have the right to voice your opinion, I find your comment offensive, especially if it was supposed to be funny.

I agree with deb, free speech doesn't always equal smart speech. Let's hope that Die hard never requires the services of one of our State Troopers.

It wasnt meant to be funny

Die Hard is obviously referring to that horrible incident reported this week about a State Trooper in SW Connecticut, and has chosen to paint the entire state police with the same brush. I prefer to be awed and inspired by the NYPD officer with the homeless man this week. As to this bank, which has been robbed at least twice before, it is in a terribly isolated location. I really think that for the safety of their employees they should move.

Die Hard is why you have to stop false monikors Michael, I have some friends in the force that would love to speak with him right now.

Actually Mr. Wheeler, your comment is exactly why people should have aliases. You comment is in my opinion a veiled threat. This man's comment was obviously stupid, but I hope and pray that none of our troopers would truly want to "speak" to him right now. The troopers I know have the ability to ignore moronic comment without threatening others.

Not going to start an internet muscle pose showdown with a false monikor. My only statement is that the weak love internet drama.
Die Hard December 02, 2012 at 04:01 AM
And what would these friends say or do?
Sadly No December 02, 2012 at 04:18 AM
I think Mr. Wheeler is proving die hard's point.

We'll then Mr.Wheeler. You by your own admission, must be very weak.
