State Police Investigating Bank Robbery in Durham

Police say the TD Bank on Main Street was robbed at 6:45 p.m.

 

State Police are investigating a bank robbery at the TD Bank in Durham Friday evening, according to Sgt. Sal Calvo.

A suspect walked into the bank at 331 Main Street around 6:45 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash, he said.

The suspect did not show a weapon but left the bank with an unknown amount of cash. He fled on foot, Calvo said.

The suspect is described as being between 5'4" and 5'8" and about 180 pounds and was last seen wearing a khaki jacket, hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The suspect also wore black gloves and a ski mask during the robbery.

Calvo said the suspect was carrying a blue grocery style bag as well.

A State Police K-9 team was able to get a track on the suspect but the investigation continues. The bank remains closed as police interview witnesses and bank employees.

At least one nearby business was evacuated as a precaution.
