State Police to Increase Patrols on St. Patrick's Day

Police will crackdown on drivers during holiday blitz tomorrow.

State police are getting ready to launch a holiday blitz on the roads.

The State Police Traffic Services Unit will increase patrols in Middlesex County on St. Patrick's Day (Saturday), including a crackdown on drivers along the I-91 and I-95 corridors.

According to Troop F Sgt. Sal Calvo, police will target:

  • drunk drivers
  • aggressive drivers
  • distracted drivers
  • speeders
  • drivers not wearing seatbelts

"It's a very festive day but don't drive if you're planning to drink," Calvo said.

The patrols will begin Saturday afternoon and continue through the early hours of Sunday morning.

I would suggest to parents to donate a book to the classroom or school library in their child's nameRead More to celebrate the child's birthday, or other significant event, instead of sending in cupcakes or other sweets.
