A Durham man was arrested in New Hampshire over the weekend after police say he got his 11-year-old daughter to breathe into an ignition interlock system to get his truck to start, according to Manchester Police.
Robert Brennan, 46, was arrested Sunday at a hotel in Manchester. His daughter and 8-year-old son were taken into protective custody before they could be turned over to family members, police said.
According to police, Brennan and his children had been sleeping in the truck parked at the hotel.
"On several occasions, he reportedly had his daughter breathe into the system, allowing him to start the vehicle and drive to several store locations in the area to purchase more alcohol," a report says.
