A fast acting state trooper prevented a man from jumping off of Wadsworth Falls in Monday evening, the Middletown Press reports.
Police were called to the state park in Middlefield shortly after 5 p.m., where they found a suicidal 54-year-old man standing near the top of the 30-foot high waterfall, the report says.
Two citizens pleaded with the man to prevent him from jumping.
After police arrived, one of the troopers managed to grab the man before he could jump.
He was taken to Middlesex Hospital for an evaluation.
