Report: Man Gets Five Years for Middlefield Home Invasion

A Plantsville man has been sentenced to five years in prison for his role in a home invasion in Middlefield in February 2011, according to the Middletown Press.

Randy Cochran, 32, of 6 Lynn Avenue, pleaded guilty to first degree burglary and criminal attempt to committ first degree robery under the Alford Doctrine.

On Feb. 17, 2011, after receiving a report of a robbery in progress. Soon after police arrived at the scene Cochran and another man, Shane Leverette, 43, of Meriden, were arrested.

According to the report, Cochran hit a victim in the head with the gun, which then went off inside the home.

Leverette has pleaded not guilty to charges. He's due in court July 24.
