State Police are investigating separate larcenies in Middlefield and Durham last week.

State Police are trying to track down the thieves responsible for two larcenies last week in Durham and Middlefield.

At approximately 6:20 a.m., on Friday, Dec. 21, police were called to the DATTCO bus depot at 41B Commerce Circle in Durham to investigate the theft of 12 batteries and cables from four school buses.

The theft occurred between the hours of 5 p.m and 5 a.m., according to police.

At approximately 6:52 a.m. on the same morning, police were called to Powder Ridge ski area at 99 Powder Hill Road in Middlefield to investigate the theft of miscellaneous tools and equipment.

The theft also occurred during the overnight hours, a report says.

Although the incidents happened less than 3 miles apart and during the same time period, it's not clear if police believe the crimes are connected.

I would suggest to parents to donate a book to the classroom or school library in their child's nameRead More to celebrate the child's birthday, or other significant event, instead of sending in cupcakes or other sweets.
