A Rockfall man faces multiple drug charges after Middletown Police say he was caught trying to hide a container filled with marijuana.
Christian E. Schou, 20, of Peters Lane, was arrested in June 14 at the Stoneycrest apartments in Middletown. He's charged with possession of a controlled substance and with intent to sell, use of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by a minor.
At approximately 10:23 p.m., police responded to Stoneycrest Apartments after receiving multiple complaints from residents about narcotics activity. Upon arrival, police said Schou was holding a 40-ounce bottle of Old English beer and was witnessed placing an object under the rear tire of a nearby car.
An investigation revealed that the object was a marshmallow Fluff jar containing several packages of marijuana — 19 grams total — with a knit sock with laundry detergent inside, used to conceal the strong odor of marijuana from police dogs, police said.
Schou told officers the marijuna belonged to another man, Ricardo Gonzalez, 20, of Rose Circle, Middletown, and began crying, according to police.
A police report says Schau got a text saying a caller had "sold two dubs," $20 of marijuana, at which point he began crying again, police said.
Gonzalez said he didn't know Schau, but Schau told police the pair lived together. Gonzalez was charged with interfering with an officer.
Both men are due in court July 19.
