Police: Middletown Man Arrested for Area Burglaries

Police arrested Dane Daniel Tilley, 30, on Monday after a lengthy investigation into burglaries in Durham, Middletown and other surrounding towns.

 

Police have arrested a Middletown man who they say is responsible for a rash of residential burglaries in Durham and surrounding towns over the past several months.

Dane Daniel Tilley, 30, of 567 Butternut Street, was taken into custody Monday on three counts of third degree burglary, three counts of third degree larceny and one count of third degree criminal mischief.

According to a press release from Middletown Police, Tilley was identified as a suspect in burglaries in the area that took place when residents were not home.

Tilley was developed as a suspect through eyewitness accounts and video surveillance, according to police, and more charges are pending against him.

An investigation into the burglaries was conducted by the Middletown Police Department's Investigative Services Division, as well as Connecticut State Police and other local departments.

Police have not yet released specific details of the investigation, including what homes Tilley is charged with burglarizing. According to online court records, Tilley has a lengthy criminal record dating back to 2004.

Tilley is being held on $150,000 bond. He's due in court on Feb. 14.
