A Middlefield woman is charged with third degree assault following an incident over the weekend.
Ruth Sheaffer, 40, of 43 High Street was arrested early Sunday morning after police were dispatched a disturbance at the multi-family home around 1 a.m.
According to a report, an on scene investigation revealed that an assault had occurred. Police say the 51 year old victim was not seriously hurt, although no further details were provided.
Sheaffer was released after posting $500 bond. She was due in court today.
