Police: Local Man Victim of Identity Fraud

Middletown woman stole Killingworth man's identify to obtain credit card, according to police.

A Middletown women was arrested earlier this month after allegedly stealing a Killingworth man's identity and using it to acquire a credit card, police say.

Natasha Elena Akers, 28, of 105 Dove Lane, turned herself in on an arrest warrant on Oct. 1.

Akers faces more than 40 counts, including identity theft, sixth degree larceny and illegal use of a credit card, according to a report.

She's also charged with making a false statement and criminal impersonation.

Akers was also arrested in July on disorderly conduct charges.
