Police Investigate Leads in Killingworth Burglaries

Arrests in string of daytime break-ins could be made soon, trooper says.

State police may be close to making arrests in a series of daytime burglaries in Killingworth earlier this summer, according to the town's resident state trooper.

In an email Sunday, Trooper Matthew Ward says police "are working on several leads ... and hoping to make some arrests."

No further details were provided.

The  occurred on Wednesday, July 13, when a thief stole two laptops and a large amount of jewelry from a home on Route 148.

Ward says there have been no reports of burglaries this month.
