Police: Trackside Deli, Middlefield Home Burglarized

Police say burglars stole cigarettes and two flat screen televisions during break-ins last week.

 

State Police are investigating two burglaries in Middlefield last week, one at a home and another at a business.

On Monday, Jan. 7, police were called to the Trackside Deli at 108 Main Street to investigate a burglary.

According to a report, a burglar smashed a glass door at the business and stole 50 cartons of cigarettes as well as 160 individual packs of cigarettes. The burglary took place overnight, according to the report, and was discovered around 4:45 a.m.

On Friday, Jan. 11, police were called to 120 West Street to investigate a residential burglary.

According to a police report, two flat screen televisions were taken from the home between 7 a.m. and 7:40 p.m. Although the home has been unoccupied since November the complaintant told police that he had visited the residence from time to time.

Entry into the home was made through a side door by smashing a window, police said.
