A Waterbury woman was charged last weekend with DUI in Middlefield after refusing to perform field sobriety tests, according to state police.
On Dec. 6, Krystyna Dunham, 23, of 345 Huntingdon Avenue, was sitting in the driver's seat of a car parked along Route 147 near Route 66, when a trooper noticed that the vehicle's driver side tire had been torn away from the rim, according to a report.
When the trooper approached Dunham the vehicle was still running and she said she'd hit a curb and got a flat tire because her tires were bald, the report says.
According to the trooper, Dunham's speech was slurred, she was unable to stay balanced on her feet and she smelled of alcohol.
Dunham admitted to consuming alcohol, the report says, but refused to perform field sobriety tests. She was subsequently arrested and charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol.
Her bond was set at $500. She's due in court on Jan. 16.
