Police: Driver Crashes Into Dumpster Along Route 66 in Middlefield

Driver and passenger uninjured in crash, according to police.

 

Two people escaped injury earlier this week in a crash in front of Jimmy D's Antiques Plus in Middlefield.

Police say Gladys Norke, 78, of Meriden, lost control of her car along Route 66 just before 1 a.m. on June 25, and slammed into a dumpster on the front lawn of the business at 228 Meriden Road.

The vehicle sustained heavy damage to the right side but Norke and a passenger were not hurt, according to a report.

Norke was given a written warning for failure to drive in the established lane, police say.
