Police Make DWI Arrests on Route 66

Police reports for Nov. 12 - Nov. 20

 

Saturday, Nov. 12

Marco Gonzalez, 41, of Meriden was arrested and charged with illegal possession of a motor vehicle plate, improper use of marker, license or registration, operation of an unregistered motor vehicle and failure to carry insurance coverage. According to a report, Gonzalez was pulled over along Route 66 in Middlefield and told police he was not aware the license plate had been stolen.

Mathieu Lamar Atkins, 32, of Meriden was arrested and charged with operating under the influence and failure to drive in proper lane. According to a report, Atkins was pulled over along Route 66 in Middlefield and was administered field sobriety tests which he failed. Police say he also submitted to a breath test which he failed.

Tuesday, Nov. 15

Amy L. Behrend, 27, of 407 Madison Road, Durham, was arrested and charged with threatening. According to a police report, the incident occurred along Stage Coach Road in Durham. Behrend was released at the scene and assigned a later court date.

Wednesday, Nov. 16

Thomas Wamaster, 41, of 103 Royal Oak Drive, Durham, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. According to a report, Wamaster was involved in an argument with his wife that escalated to him pushing her down to the ground twice causing her to bump her head on the floor.

Thursday, Nov. 17

According to a report, a car driven by Joseph Iaquinto was traveling too fast, lost control, and slid off the road along River Road, just south of Spencer Hill Road in Killingworth. No injuries were reported. 

Sunday, Nov. 20

Robert E. Sayles, 66, of Meriden was arrested anc charged with driving while intoxicated and traveling too fast for conditions. According to a report, Sayles was stopped alomg Route 66 near Route 147 in Middlefield.
