Police Blotter: Killingworth Man Arrested for Failure to Appear

Police say Geoffrey Riggio failed to show up to court.

Geoffrey Riggio, 28, of 64 Roast Meat Hill Road, Killingworth, was arrested without incident at his home on a PRAWN warrant for failure to appear. Riggio faces several motor vehicle violations after police say he was stopped for operating an unregistered motor vehicle . Riggio was also arrested in for failure to appear.

Monday, March 19

Police are investigating an accident along I-95 in Guilford involving Mark L. Kowalski, 53, of 153 River Road, Killingworth. According to a report, Kowalski was traveling at a high rate of speed behind another vehicle slowing for traffic ahead when he collided with the vehicle. Police say Kowalski entered the left shoulder and attempted to evade the scene. A Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) officer traveling in the traffic backup observed Kowalski passing at a high speed in the breakdown lane and stopped him for the violation. The driver of the other vehicle eventually came upon the scene and informed the DEEP officer that he'd been struck by Kowalski. No charges were detailed in the report.
