Near Drowning at Haddam Meadows State Park

On Friday, by-standers pulled two people from the CT River to safety.

 

According to Bob Norton of the , at approximately 5:47 p.m. on Friday, the HVFC responded to the for a reported drowning.  

Upon arrival, Norton said, a search was conducted and it was found that two persons had entered the water and one had gone below the surface for an unknown period.

The two were pulled to safety by nearby by-standers and assisted to shore, where they were checked out and refused medical treatment on scene. 

HVFC was assisted by Haddam Emergency Management Service, a Middlesex Hospital Paramedic and by the CT State Police and the DEEP Police.
