Durham-Middlefield Police Blotter: June 14-24

The following information was provided by Connecticut State Police and local police departments.

June 14

Michelle E. Nowotynski, 19, of Ross Road, Middlefield, was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use of marker plate, insurance coverage fails minimum and failure to have stop lamps. According to police, Nowotynski was stopped by Middletown Police at 1:50 p.m. while driving on Washington Street with a tail light out.

June 22

Joanna Sergi, 50, of 181 David Road, Durham, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol. According to a report, state police responded to a report of an erratic driver along New Haven Avenue (Route 17) near the Hitchin' Post Tavern around 8:11 p.m. Sergi was subsequently stopped and subjected to field sobriety tests which she failed.

June 24

Jason E. Beach, 32, of 21 Way Road, Middlefield, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, third degree assault and threatening. According to a report, state police responded to 1204 Saybrook Road in Haddam at approximately 8:45 p.m. for a domestic disturbance. Police say Beach became physically violent following a verbal dispute with a man and woman at the residence. The case remains under investigation.
