Durham-Middlefield Police Blotter: July 15-28

The following information was provided by Connecticut State Police and local police departments.

July 15

Julian R. Oshana, 18, of 235 Old Blue Hills Road, Durham, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Bond was set at $500.

July 17

Michael Mangiafico, 50, of 10 Hidden Oak Drive, Farmington, was arrested in Durham and charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, following too close and failure to carry the minimum insurance requirements.

July 18

Clinton J. Stewart, 32, of 16 Buckboard Road, Durham, was arrested and charged with third degree assault, second degree threatening and second degree harassment. According to a police report, Stewart allegedly physically assaulted and threatened a female victim between July 12 and July 16. Stewart’s bond was set at $50,000. Other arrests are anticipated in the case, according to the report.

July 19

Roy A. Neumann, 53, of 41 Derby Road, Middlefield, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol and operating a motor vehicle without a license.  Neumann was stopped while driving along Powder Hill Road in Middlefield. Bond was set at $500.

July 26

Susan Ianniello, 44, of 56 Brittany Drive, Durham, was arrested and charged with third degree assault and breach of peace. The incident occurred in the parking lot at a business at 472 Main Street inDurham, according to police. No injuries were reported. Bond was set at $500.

Jay Norton, 20, of 66 a New Haven Road, Durham, was issued a misdemeanor summons for failure to have insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and following too close. According to a police report, Norton struck two motorcyclists while traveling westbound on Route 68 near Clearidge Drive. Both motorcyclists were transported to a local hospital with injuries.

July 27

James Brant, 45, of 41 Goldfinch Road, Durham, was arrested by DEP Police and charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol and unsafe backing. Bond was set at $500.

July 28

Gino Rizzo, 19, of 774 Millbrook Road, Middletown, was arrested and charged with breach of peace. According to police, at approximately 11:19 p.m., Troop F Dispatch received a call of a disturbance at 980 New Haven Road in Durham. Police say Rizzo was involved in an argument with his girlfriend in the parking area of the Hitching Post Café. Rizzo was taken into custody and his bond was set at $2,500.
