Driver Arrested After High Speed Chase Ends in Middlefield

Middletown man arrested for second time in less than a month after crashing car along Main Street Saturday night.

A 27-year-old man is facing numerous charges after leading police on a high speed chase that came to an end in Middlefield Saturday night.

Christopher A. Loosemore, of 3214 Town Brooke Street, Middletown, was arrested after he lost control of a car and crashed along Main Street (Route 157), just north of Cider Mill Road, according to state police.

The chase began shortly before 10 p.m. in Middletown police said, after Loosemore fled as Middlefield police were attempting to pull him over.

Middletown Police eventually called off the chase, but Loosemore continued, according to a report.

He was traveling south along Main Street when he lost control of the car - a 2000 Audi A6 - and crashed (see photos).

Loosemore was taken to Hartford Hospital with unknown injuries.

While conducting their investigation, state police stopped several cars along Jackson Hill Road and questioned the occupants, according to a witness.

Police also conducted a visual search of the area using spotlights the witness said.

Loosemore is charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to have vehicle insurance, misuse of plates and traveling too fast for conditions.

On Mar. 22, Loosemore was arrested in Middletown and charged with criminal violation of protective order, first-degree criminal trespass and improper use of marker plate.
