Emergency crews responded to a crash along Route 147 in Middlefield around noon Monday.
Police say both drivers were injured as a result of the accident, which happened in front of at 227 Baileyville Road.
According to police, Louis Ouelette, 77, of Middlefield, was traveling southbound when he attempted to turn on to Way Road. His vehicle was struck by a car driven by Michael Reifler, 49, of Hamden.
Both men were taken to Middlesex Hospital as a precaution.
Police cited Ouelette for failure to grant the right of way.
