It has been estimated that approximately 50% of people of taxpaying age pay NO TAXES. When these people start paying their FAIR SHARE then I would agree maybe the wealthier hard working people can pay a little more. Enough of the class warfare promoted by the most divisive president in history. Maintain the Bush tax cuts for everyone and lets try to get this country back on the right track.

@Hawkeye: Our rights do not come from the Constitution, nor do they come from the Bill of Rights. Our rights, as enumerated by the founders, are the Natural rights of a free society. Some would say our rights come from God. In any case, the two aforementioned documents only guarantee our rights, they don't come from them or create them. Government, even in its smallest and most benign form, is still only a necesary evil. It is the job of a free people to protect those rights by voting for representatives who will follow the founding documents. If they do not, then they should be voted out of office. No one deserves more to be voted out than Obama, who has repeatedly bypassed the due process of government by using mandates, executive orders and by directing various branches of government to ignore laws and regulations which he thinks conflict with his plan for America.

Hawkeye, call me when the United States Army is not occupying 135 countries around the world and the federal reserve isn't handing the military industrial complex a blank check. I love the argument that without taxes we wouldn't have roads and all the bridges wouldn't suddenly disappear. Don't you think a lack of an essential service, I think we can agree that infrastructure is essential, wouldn't be picked up by private sector individuals looking to make, dare I say it, a profit. The same goes for even less "essential" things like the arts. Private donations to the arts have have passed 1 billion dollars in years past while the National Endowment for the Arts hands over 162 million is taxpayer money to those skilled at application completion. Answer this, if all of the entitlement programs ended today, if everything the government supplies to this dependent on it ended, would you be more or less likely to volunteer to do your fair share? Or would you rather go to a voting both once every November, vote for more legal plunder, more entitlements, and more deficit spending, and feel like you're being compassionate? If it's the latter, I wouldn't call it compassion, I'd call it laziness.

@hawkeye: Obama's plan? " ...to fundamentally change America." "..to spread the wealth around." In other words to penalize industry, hard work and success. To take from the producers and give to the non-producers. His Communist Mommy and Daddy would have been proud! To put the government, which has never run anything efficiently or successfully, in charge of one-fifth of the GDP, via Obamacare. To void the 2nd amendment by signing on to the United Nations Small Arms importation treaty. I can go on and on but what's the point? If you're going to vote for Obama this time, you will find yourself in the minority.
