Altrusa International of Central CT host First Community Volunteer Forum

Altrusa International of Central Connecticut, Inc is hosting the first ever community volunteer forum event, "Volunteer Opportunities in Central CT" will be held this Saturday, May 3 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Middletown South Fire Department meeting room, at 445 Randolph Road in Middletown.  Come and meet each organization, talk to the officers, directors and volunteers, get information about the good things being done in our local community and how you can join or volunteer for a project or just a day! The Mayor of Middletown, Daniel Drew will arrive at 10:15 for presentation of the Proclamation from the City of Middletown.

Adelbrook Community Services- An agency specializing in behavioral & developmental services meeting the needs for all ages as they relate to intellectual/development disabilities & the Autism Spectrum Disorder. Offer community based services throughout CT

Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks, BPOE 771- nationwide organization that loves this country and desire to preserve institutions, traditions & values; respect for neighbors by promoting well-being, love and enjoyment for life.

Middlesex Habitat for Humanity- dedicated to providing decent, affordable house ownership in partnership with qualified families in need.  With volunteer assistance help maintain affordable housing

Manes & Motions Therapeutic Riding Center- member of Hospital for Special Care & committed to improving children & adults with disabilities though the benefits of equin-assisted activities

Middlesex United Way- dedicated to strengthening lives, helping people & community conditions in Middlesex County while supporting initiatives that help those in need and prevent problems from happening

Middlesex United Way Young Leaders- community involvement, personal development & networking for young professionals 21-40 who live in Middlesex County.  Create opportunities for involvement with United Way, network, volunteer, & develop leadership skills

St Vincent de Paul & Amazing Grace Food Pantry- serve 8,2000 meals, provide 1,400 support services through community assistance program while encouraging individuals to live on own through supportive housing programs. 1000 receive groceries each month at food pantry

Soroptomist International- Connecticut River Valley-  volunteer organization for community-minded women to work to improve lives of women & girls locally and worldwide
