OK, once more I accidentally deleted the blog I had been working on for at least thirty to forty minutes. So, since it's late, and I need to get up early tomorrow for a meeting, I'll just share a few highlights of the past few days.
This week I was a part of two very productive meetings with David Slaymaker, the president of Oaxaca Streetchildren Grassroots, Dr. Martha Canseco, the president of the Centro de Esperanza Infantil, and her husband Daniel, the treasurer of the CEI. We wanted to agree on an agenda prior to our big meeting on Saturday with both boards attending (five of our eight members are now here for the Saturday meeting).
Martha and Daniel are very congenial, and all of us have a positive feeling about our upcoming joint board meeting. We are certainly all eager to see our organization continue to move ahead as we serve the neediest children of Oaxaca. After our meeting this morning, I took a few photos (posted here) of some young girls working with a volunteer in the new sewing room.

They were stitching and filling small sachet bags to sell at the Center in the future. There is always some interesting activity going on at the CEI, thanks to the hard working staff and the many volunteers who come here from many different countries throughout the year.
The rest of my day was spent running around the downtown area of the city, trying to get several errands done. Some businesses close for about two hours during the middle of the day, others stay open from about 10:00 AM until 8:00PM.

It can be confusing at times to try and remember who is open when and even which day! Eventually I saw everyone I needed to see and snapped a few more interesting photos on the way. And, of course, I got a lot of exercise. More tomorrow...hopefully I will stay away from whatever key deleted my first blog today!
