Hasta pronto

Saying "hasta pronto" (see you soon) to friends from here as well as to friends back in CT.

My "hasta pronto" is for both my friends from Oaxaca and also for friends and family in the US. I will see Durham friends very soon, and will be with family members from NE, PA, NY, and CT next Saturday for a family reunion in Maine. The "see you soon" is also for friends here. I hope to be back sometime this fall, early in November, if possible.

Today is a day of connecting with several people here to say "hasta luego", and, of course, buying that bubble wrap I realized I needed yesterday, followed by packing. I seem to have accumulated a lot during my two weeks here, but luckily I came with a fairly empty suitcase, so I think (and hope!) that all will fit.

Thanks to you readers for "joining me" on this trip. I hope you have a better idea of my Mexico, at least. There is so much misunderstanding of how things are here in the Oaxaca area due to all the negative press in our country. Oaxaca is not the border...and, the border is not the norm.

I'll keep this short and try to take some good photos today to add those "1,000 words" per picture.

I would suggest to parents to donate a book to the classroom or school library in their child's nameRead More to celebrate the child's birthday, or other significant event, instead of sending in cupcakes or other sweets.
