Support Lehane for RSD 17 Board of Education on Monday Evening
Support Lehane For RSD 17 BoE on Monday night, 7:00 PM at KES
I, too, was saddened by Keith Kelsey’s resignation form the Region 17 Board of Education. I do not know him well, but I was impressed with his openness and calm demeanor during the short time I knew him as Board Chair. I wish him and his family well.
A Town Meeting has been called to fill this vacancy on March 5, 2012, at 7:00 PM in the KES auditorium. As a member of the current RSD 17 Board of Education I wholeheartedly endorse Jamie Lehane to fill this vacancy.

Jamie has lived in Killingworth for 25 years, raised a family and has been an active member of the community. I first met Jamie as a member of the Inland Wetlands Watercourse Commission where I appreciated his willingness to listen to all sides and then present a well thought-out balanced opinion on all matters. Jamie is an active member of the KDTC, in which he has earned the respect and appreciation of its members for his longstanding commitment to the community.
Jamie’s experience as a member of the Bureau of Child Welfare, Connecticut Department of Children and Families makes him substantially qualified to join our Board of Education. Jamie’s lifelong profession has been advocating for children while reviewing policies, procedures and budgets. Moreover, Jamie’s experience with childhood advocacy in the State of Connecticut will be useful in the coming months and years as major educational reform is enacted in our State. In short, Jamie is a perfect match for our School Board. I have every confidence that Jamie’s addition to the School Board will have a positive affect on teaching and learning in our community.

Please join me in supporting Jamie Lehane Monday, March 5, 7:00 PM at Killingworth Elementary School. A vote for Lehane is certainly a vote for the children of Haddam and Killingworth.
